KAMFT is the Kansas Division of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). KAMFT membership is established automatically with your AAMFT annual membership renewal. Four categories of membership are available to address the qualifications and needs of a wide variety of professionals including:
Student Members
Student Members are currently enrolled in a graduate or postdegree training program that can be reasonably expected to lead towards an MFT license and AAMFT Clinical Membership. KAMFT membership for Student Members focuses on supporting the student’s developing professional identity.
Associate Members
Associate Members have earned graduate degrees in marriage and family therapy or a related mental health discipline, and are working on clinical hours required for MFT licensure and AAMFT Clinical Membership. KAMFT membership for Associate Members focuses on supporting the clinician’s successful transition from Student to Clinical Member.
Clinical Members
Clinical Members of the AAMFT are licensed marriage and family therapists. KAMFT membership for Clinical Members focuses on supporting the clinician’s establishment and growth of an effective and successful independent practice.
Affiliate Members
Affiliate Membership signifies a commitment to staying up-to-date on the latest research, news, and clinical developments in the marriage and family therapy profession. It is the ideal membership opportunity for the mental health professional who wants to connect with the MFT profession, but does not want to pursue MFT licensure or Clinical Membership. This membership category is non-clinical. KAMFT membership for Affiliate Members focuses on supporting the allied professional’s awareness and use of a systemic framework in varying contexts.
