LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Partcipants will...
1. Understand brain development in the first two years of life in traumatic and non-traumatic circumstances.
2. Deepen awareness of the therapeutic relationship as a primary agent of neuroplasticity.
3. Understand how to use attachment assessment side by side with other diagnostic tools across client populations.
4. Learn how to use the principles of interpersonal neurobiology in the treatment of traumatized children, teens, and adults.
AUDIENCE
This program is designed for marriage and family therapists, social workers, counselors, psychologists, psychiatrists, clergy, addictions counselors, foster care workers, probation officers, and others who work with individuals, couples, and families.
CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT
Participants may earn up to twelve continuing education units for attendance at the two-day conference at no additional charge. Three CEUs are available for participation in the pre-conference ethics workshop and five CEUs are available for those attending the Supervisor Refresher Workshop. This program is designed to help participants meet the requirement for continuing education of the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board. Participants will be required to sign in for both morning and afternoon sessions (evening session for ethics workshop) if they wish to receive continuing education credits. CEU certificates will be awarded on-site at the end of each day. Future requests for CEU certificates should be directed to the state office of KAMFT.
