A Master's in Family Therapy is the terminal degree that provides the training and experience needed to begin a professional therapy practice. The resources within this section are provided to support the establshment of state licensure, approved supervision, and successful passage of the national exam. Each of these steps enables an MFT to progress toward clinical licensure needed to operate as an independent practitioner in Kansas. For those interested in further pursuing additional training to do research and teach at a university, the doctoral education is available for obtaining that additional educational training.
