The K-State Student-Associate Organization (SAO) organizes all social events for the Kansas State University Marriage and Family Therapy program. These events include a Welcome Back BBQ in the fall, Fall Graduates Farewell, Winter Holiday Party, and End of the Year event.

This year we hope to include a fundraiser to sponsor students for annual conferences such as KAMFT, NCFR, and AAMFT. We hope to include a community service activity as well to remain active in our home community of Manhattan KS.  The SAO also aids the MFT program during the interview process for new students. We serve as tour guides, hosts for out-of-state students, and even airport shuttle drivers. The faculty frequently requests student volunteers for various projects and SAO officers are the first to step up.

Membership

Membership is open to all students in both the Master’s and Doctoral programs.  Each member is required to pay a membership fee of $20 for the year. This covers costs of events planned throughout the year as well as a program t-shirt.
